Meet Anne Murch, the artist behind our limited edition Twilight design

When and where did your artistic journey begin?

I was a creator from a young age but my formal artistic journey began in college.  I took many art history classes and started my ceramic journey there, falling in love with the process.

How would you describe your artistic style?

My artistic style very much depends on the project I am working on.  There are times when my works are very precise and other times where I enjoy being more abstract.  Overall, I want my work to bring joy and make the viewer or user smile.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I draw inspiration from learning new techniques and mediums.  I am a perpetual student.  It is probably why I love yoga, you never stop learning.

Who do you look up to in your industry?

I have always looked up to my first yoga teacher, Suzanne.  She taught me about the alignment of yoga poses and how to find the strength in my breath during my RYT yoga training.

What training/certifications do you have?

I am a former RYT200 yoga instructor.

How did you hear about Yoloha Yoga and why do you identify with us?

A friend of mine ordered a Yoloha mat and loved that it was a small family-owned company with Made in America products.  I am someone who loves to be unique so, when I saw the yoga mats with original artwork, I had to have one.

What was your inspiration behind the Twilight design?

Twilight is at the edges of day and night.  It is in the edges of my yoga practice where I find inspiration.  I wanted to create something that would convey how I felt – convincing the edges in myself that I am strong enough for one more breath or just to make an attempt.

What role does yoga play in your life?

Yoga keeps me centered, grounded, and - most of all - level headed.

What is a mantra that you live by?

Enjoy each season of life and tackle challenges one bite at a time.
