Description

The Aura was created with comfort in mind. Our most cushioned yoga mat provides added support for your joints. We developed a fine grain cork surface for a soft feel, yet with no sacrifice on grip which increases with moisture. Never worry about slipping again. Care is easy with a naturally antimicrobial surface eliminating bacteria, and a closed cell foam bottom that won’t absorb moisture or smells. The Aura will completely change your perspective on how a yoga mat can be so light, yet ultra durable and high performing.
Use: For practices with very heavy perspiration (where sweat “pools” on your mat) we recommend our Unity or Original Yoga Mats.

Sustainability

Thank mother nature for making cork! Cork is the outer bark of the Cork Oak Tree which grows in the Mediterranean area. These cork oak forests support one of the world’s highest levels of forest biodiversity. Trees are not cut down to harvest cork, rather, the bark is harvested every 9 years. Cork oak trees can live up to 300 years. Harvesting cork is performed completely by hand and provides over 100,000 fair wage jobs. Learn More

Care Guide

Lightly spray with Yoloha mat cleaner or natural cleaner after use and lay flat to dry.
Grip Tip: Cork increases grip when wet. Use our grip spray or sprinkle water on your mat where your hands and feet go before practice for extra traction.
Use: For practices with very heavy perspiration (where sweat “pools” on your mat) we recommend our Unity or Original Yoga Mats.

LOVELAND THERAPY FUND

100 mats are available in the Ancestars limited edition design with our goal to raise $2,500 toward the Loveland Foundation. This will provide up to 40 black women and girls therapy sessions.

With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups. Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls nationally seeking therapy.

WHY GIVING TO THE THERAPY FUND IS IMPORTANT NOW MORE THAN EVER

COVID -19 is disproportionately affecting minority women, 70% of Black Mothers don't have access to paid leave, despite 80% of them being the main breadwinner for their family. According to the US HHS Office of Minority Health report Black/African Americans living below poverty are three times more likely to report serious psychological distress than those living above poverty. And while Black/African Americans are less likely than white people to die from suicide as teenagers, Black/African Americans teenagers are more likely to attempt suicide than are white teenagers. Loveland is committed to investing in the healing of black women and girls nationwide during this difficult time. Collectively we can let these women know that we are invested in their healing.

Meet the Artist: Noraa James

Noraa James is a creator from Norfolk, Virginia presently based in Athens, Georgia. As an Old Dominion University Drawing & Design graduate, Noraa's work is an exploration into the representation of blackness in its beauty, sublimity and the connectedness of such with the natural elements in and around us, primarily through the scope of afrofuturism and afrosurrealism. Outside of art, Noraa occupies himself by swooning over his wife, listening to and learning music production, anything sci-fi, healthy cooking/eating, intimate and deep conversations, most things eclectic, defining blackness in my own terms, fitness, and alternating between reading a book and the clouds barefoot under a tree at a park.

Behind the Ancestars Design

Sharing the same name to an earlier series of digital manipulation pieces I created under the former pseudonym, SReal, Ancestars (2020) is an imagining of my ancestors as connected constellations among the cosmos, full of peace, compassion and guardianship. I am deeply inspired by ritual masks of various African societies and that is the primary component in how I form the faces of these beings. In this way I attempt to connect representational ancient beings with a space beyond size and time.

I Love This Mat!

I bought this mat in the hopes that I could use it for my deeper and gentler yoga practices, particularly yin yoga. I’m glad I did because not only is the art beautiful and vibrant, the mat itself is so much more comfortable than I imagined it would be! Just what I needed for my recovery practices.

Pure love

My first mat was the unity (which I also love). This mat became available shortly after I got the unity mat and I've been lusting after it ever since. I decided to get it for a birthday present to myself. I need cushion for my knees and was a little worried since it was so light. I was pleasantly surprised. This mat provides great cushion for my knees and looks amazing. I use it mainly for Yin yoga.

Love the mat and love supporting black artists and mental health. Thank you for another wonderful mat!

The Mat of my dreams

I absolutely adore this mat. I have sensitive knees and this mat provides the perfect amount of cushion. The art is INCREDIBLE! The fact that my purchase not only helped a black artist but helped fund mental health services for black women, best purchase of my life. You can feel the intentions that went into this mat. Highly recommend!
