Caitlin Lawson was born and raised in the small beach town of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Her first love was the ocean and started surfing at the age of eight when her dad would push her into waves the small, forgiving waves of the Carolina shore. It was in college where she discovered yoga and its benefits after suffering a knee injury. A natural athlete, Caitlin had never been forced to stay off of her feet for so long and yoga was her way back to movement and freedom. Once the yoga fire was ignited, she completed her 200-hour Teacher Training through a registered Yoga Alliance School and a 50-hour SUP Yoga Teacher Training through Paddle into Fitness.
Currently Caitlin is living in Rincon, Puerto Rico where she teaches yoga, SUP yoga, and surfs as much as possible. She believes that yoga and surfing go hand-in-hand and credits both practices to teaching her to overcome fears and self-doubt, all while experiencing life in the present moment. It’s her goal as a yoga teacher is to empower others to find their own strength, their own confidence, and their own light.
Caitlin is an advocate for living a healthy, positive lifestyle, and is proud to support companies that align with her core values. She is stoked to be an Ambassador for Yoloha, as well as a Living Yoga Ambassador for Yoga Trade and a Global Yoga Ambassador for a nonprofit, Go Light Our World.
