Dean's first yoga class was entirely on accident. He was looking for the tailor and stumbled into a Bikram Yoga studio. Dean had always been interested in yoga but had never taken a yoga class before that day. He asked the yoga instructor if this class would help with his athletic performance. (At the time he was a lacrosse player for the University of Wisconsin.) She told him that it would help tone his muscles and make him much more flexible. That was exactly what Dean was looking for. Two hours later, drenched in sweat from head to toe, utterly exhausted and feeling like he had just exited a pool, Dean had completed his first yoga class. It was, and probably will remain, the hardest workout that he had ever done.
From that point on, he was sold. After two months of doing yoga consistently, Dean realized that the benefits of yoga extended far beyond flexibility. His level of limberness skyrocketed, and so did his endurance, body control, core strength, and balance, just to name a few of the benefits he was experiencing. More than that, it made him even stronger in the weight room. He first began instructing yoga as the conditioning coach of his lacrosse team in 2011. He was concerned that a bunch of lax bros like himself would not be interested in yoga, but that was not the case. The team LOVED it. That success encouraged Dean to take his knowledge and passion to a larger audience. He started Man Flow Yoga™ in January of 2013 to bring the benefits of yoga to as many people as possible. Since then, Dean have been teaching yoga to people all over the world through his online programs.
